Westport College of Further Education is pleased to announce the launch of our part-time QQI/FETAC Agriculture Level 5 and Level 6 course. The course will commence in September 2018 and finish in November 2019.
The course is often called the ‘Green Cert’ and provides students with practical and farm management training.

There are two options when participating on the course.You can attend in person and be part of the class room based delivery on Monday and Tuesday evenings OR via distance where you can view the classes via video conferencing. Please ensure you register for the correct class either classroom-based or the distance delivery class.
The following are the dates for the Green Cert for 2018/19
The course will take place on Monday and Tuesday Evenings from 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm with the option of classroom based learning or distance learning. You will be required to attend the classes scheduled on these nights or to view them at these times depending on the option you have signed up for. Please ensure you register for the correct class.

As the distance course provides those with demanding life commitments to partake in completion of the Green Cert it does however require the student to be present in the College in Westport for examinations, assessment and demonstrations.
Assessment for the distance course will take place on a number of Saturdays over the duration of the course. It is envisaged that the following are the dates:

Saturday 19th January 2019
Saturday 16th March 2019
Saturday 08th September 2019
Teachers will advise in advance on the assessment procedure for each module and the time frame allocated to same. All examinations assessments and skills demonstrations will be held in accordance with QQI protocol.
There may be a slight variation in the above dates and some classes/examinations may take place during the mid term breaks of the college. We endeavor to keep to the above dates as far as possible.
